Students fly “George the Eagle” a hand-made kite from Indonesia that was given to the students by a generous benefactor many years ago. The name was inspired because George Washington was the first American president and the Eagle is the national bird.

“George” is now hanging in the classroom and observes the students as they work.
It is a great way for students to feel connected to historical figures. this will make it easier for the actual history lessons to stick in their brains.
